SCHOLARSHIPS

Cross Community, Inc. offers multiple scholarships. Scroll down to read about each scholarship opportunity.

Betty Vaughn Coles Scholarship

The Betty Vaughn Coles Scholarship is named after Trenton Central High School's Class of 1945 student and former Trenton Public Schools teacher, Betty Vaughn Coles. Betty was an average student who did not stand out for her grades or athletic prowess. She graduated with average grades and went on to attend West Virginia State University.

Cross Community, Inc. is looking for a Trenton Public Schools senior who is just like Betty to receive a 4-year college scholarship.

CCI College Bound Scholarship

Cross Community, Inc. knows that not all Trenton's high school students attend Trenton Public Schools. So, we created the CCI College Bound Scholarship, a scholarship awarded to a current high school senior who does not attend a Trenton Public School, but lives in the City of Trenton.

Like the Betty Vaughn Coles Scholarship, this scholarship is not awarded based on the recipients grades, but on the evidence that there is a financial need.

Alice Crews Scholarship

Cross Community, Inc. is looking for single parents who are returning to college to complete their degrees after stepping away to raise their families. We know that many parents are working full-time to provide for their families and taking classes at night so they can follow their dreams. We'd like to take away some of the financial burden for those who need it most.

Robert Ross Scholarship

Named after Cross Community, Inc's Vice President, this scholarship will be awarded to one middle or high school student from Trenton, NJ who is enrolling at a private preparatory school and needs additional assistance paying for tuition.

Cross Community, Inc. Scholarship Fund at The College of New Jersey

The College of New Jersey's Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) Program supports hundreds of students from across the state of New Jersey every year. Cross Community, Inc. has teamed with the college to create a scholarship specifically for EOF students from Trenton, NJ. Together, the organizations choose 7 students to receive a 4-year scholarship, so that financial security is one less stressor during their undergraduate journeys.
